Designed as the new headquarters for Google’s Global Business Organization and developed by Oxford Properties, St. John’s Terminal is a state-of-the-art, historic, environmentally conscious, 1.3Msf workplace. In completing this renovation, the goal was to create an amazing work environment that celebrates the building’s illustrious past as a High Line rail terminal, yet also looks to the future with an innovative, sustainable design that inspires over 3,000 Google employees.
Google has opened the doors to the New York City headquarters for its global business organization at St. John’s Terminal.
After decades of vacancy, Google is transforming the historic site of Bolands Mills in Dublin into a new commercial center and vibrant city quarter. As one of the largest regeneration projects in the Dublin Docklands, the project is already bringing an influx of business and buzz to the city’s tech hub.
Built in 1914, the Lord & Taylor Building in Manhattan served as the retail giant’s flagship store for over a century and helped shape the city’s identity, including introducing Fifth Avenue as a premier shopping destination. In March 2020, Amazon purchased this landmark, transforming the department store (along with the neighboring Dreicer Building), into a modern, dynamic workplace for more than 2,000 employees. This new tech hub is known as “Hank.”

A Seattle Amazon Fresh location has received a Zero Carbon Certification from the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), becoming the world’s first grocery store—and Amazon’s first building—to receive the certification. ILFI awarded the certification in September, and is currently evaluating four additional Amazon locations, which are on track to achieve this validation of their carbon-reduction efforts.
